It is with great sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of this year’s HISRECO conference, which was to be held at the Walras-Pareto Center (University of Lausanne) from March 19-21, due to the risks related to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. While at this time, there is no formal ban on travels within and to the European Union for the most part, we deem it wiser to encourage social distancing in order to avoid participating in the virus’ spread. A number of universities and research institutions have taken similar steps, advising their employees to avoid research trips which do not represent an absolute necessity. Had we decided to maintain the conference, chances are still high that future events would have made us reconsider our decision, resulting in a last-minute cancellation. We apologize for all the inconvenience that our decision may create for the participants.
Last but not least, we are addressing our warmest thanks to the local organizers, François Allisson and Harro Maas, who have until this day done their to best to ensure the conference’s success and who will have to deal with the cancellation’s aftermath.
We hope to see you all on the occasion of a future HISRECO.
Thes organizing committee: François Allisson (University of Lausanne), Cléo Chassonnery-Zaïgouche (CRASSH, University of Cambridge), Pedro Duarte (Insper Institute), Yann Giraud (University of Cergy-Pontoise) and Harro Maas (University of Lausanne).
